JOB DESCRIPTION London, full time. The business is recruiting a Chief Technology Officer, a key hire, in order to ensure the successful execution of its product and community plans. This will require envisioning the evolution of the company’s web and mobile app offerings, leading the implementation of those plans and delivering significant growth.
The CTO will be responsible for the delivery of high quality code and efficient development of new features on the various mobile client platforms (iPhone, Blackberry, Symbian, Android). Also you will manage the continued development of WorkSnug’s website, in line with its community building goals. The role will be a combination of in-house development and managing external development resource. As such the successful candidate will be expected to bring direct development skills and experience to the role. A full job specification is available to support this summary document
REPORTING TO The Managing Director
PROFILE The Chief Technology Officer has a proven track record as a team lead for
development on mobile platforms and also has the experience and skills necessary to drive a rapidly changing technology startup. He or she may be seeking a broader role with more strategic responsibility, while remaining hands on with code. He or she is equally excited by technology and by business strategy and brings a selection of the following diverse skills:
- 3+ years of experience developing on Android, iOS
- 3+ years development experience, including deployment of commercial services
- Strong background in Objective-C, C++ and Java
- Experience with Ruby on Rails
- Experience in implementing an agile or similar development environment
- Experience in a technology startup environment

REMUNERATION As a senior hire, the CTO will receive both salary and stock options. Basic salary will be £30,000, with options award determined on commencement of employment and issued on successful completion of six-month probation.
